Open Educational Resources for Faculty
The Open Educational Resources Committee at South Dakota State University invites you to participate in a brief survey about your use of OER. OER are defined as "teaching, learning, and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits their free use and re-purposing by others." Unlike traditionally copyrighted materials, these resources are available for "open" use, which means users can edit, modify, customize, and share them. South Dakota State University is interested in who is using OER in their classes, what resources are being used, and the interest in furthering their use. This survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Data from the survey will be used by the Open Educational Resources Committee (a subcommittee of the Library Committee) to help guide our activities in helping faculty and students use these resources on campus. The survey will be sent to the approximately 675 faculty at SDSU. Any questions about the survey or participation should be directed to Shari Theroux at
or (605) 688-5560. Thank you for your interest in Open Education Resources (OER).
